

I, myself, have finally overcome my lifelong overweight condition, and hope that everyone else can do the same. The benefits you will receive when you get your weight down to your normal level will only be truly realized when you actually get there. This site will provide you with the information that you should know to help you achieve your diet/weight loss goals!

The following are the objectives and goals of this home page:
A comprehensive resource to many areas on the net that will give us the information, knowledge, and support needed to help us lose pounds, and keep it off;
A fairly quick loading but comprehensive home page with a minimum amount of lugging graphics and long sentences. Also, I try to put almost all of the links on ONE main Diet/Weight Loss & Fitness Home Page, versus nesting a bunch of menus that you might get lost in. It may take a moment to load, but it truly your "home" page.
I've included some of my own personally written articles and research summaries in the NEW INFORMATION section based on the things I have learned the hard way, or by reading and hearing thoughts and ideas from a number of resources. These will be updated regularly.
Support for those people I am working with;
A place we can all come to when we get the urge to eat when we are trying to lose pounds. Whenever you are tempted to eat, leave the kitchen and come to your computer (Or else drink some water and go for a walk). Being conscious of your urge to eat before you do it is very key to losing and keeping it off. This is especially true for those of us with low metabolism due to genetics, we have to work a lot harder to lose and keep it off than the lucky people.

PS: WHO IS DONN? Well, I'm married, with 2 boys ages 15 and 13. I was born in Georgia, have lived in Hamburg, NY which is south of Buffalo, today live in Hyde Park near the Catskills, and someday hope to move to the western USA or Canada. Hobbies are computers, commodities, cars and, well, I guess maybe health! I hope you find this site useful.
And very seriously, if you have any doubt about your health, you should talk to your doctor first before beginning a diet/weight loss or fitness program. I personally did not talk to my doctor before I started my program, but then he is about 80 pounds too heavy himself. Maybe I should direct him to these pages.
