[Men's Weight Table]

[Women's Weight Table]

Weight tables are only guides, you still must consider at least the following::

  • Your percentage of body fat and physical fitness will increase your weight considerably. The more fit you are, the heavier your mass, and the more you should weigh. Muscle is heavier than fat, so the more muscular you are, the more you will weigh. That's the reason people on diets should measure their waistlines as an indicator of success, along with the scale.

  • As you age, you're weight should increase in the range.

  • Most of the weight table sources indicated that if you exceed the maximum in the range, that you are considered obese.

  • If you are heavy framed, you should be on the higher end of the range, and if you are light framed, you should be on the lower end.

    Sources of the weight statistics....

*1 Readers Digest ABC's of the Human Body,
    *2 AMA Home Medical Encyclopedia,
    *3 AMA Family Medical Guide,
    *4 Your Health, Prentice Hall

And, then there's the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Complete Home Medical Guide ....

  • 1. Divide your height, in inches, by 66

  • 2. Multiply the result times itself

  • 3. Multiply that result by 100, plus your age

  • 4. The number falls in the middle of a range.

  • 5. A weight within 7 or 8 pounds is still healthy for most people.

    And then there's MY favorite::

If you can't PINCH AN INCH on your stomach you're in good shape!!!!
(I guess I'm not there yet)
